Nationally: the issue of running away has again been highlighted with the creation of a new All Party Parliamentary Group launched in July to help children who run away or go missing. A UK Coalition for Runaway Children has been established with the first meeting on 18 October in London. Locally Derby City Council and Derbyshire County Council are jointly working to produce new and up-to-date Safeguarding Procedures to be launched in February 2007. Section 13 is specifically related to Children and Families who run away and the Runaways Project is contributing to this piece of work. |
